San Antonio Plaza

The San Antonio Plaza Arcade is a two-storey community center serving the everyday needs of Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village residents. RCHITECTS Inc. was commissioned for the expansion and renovation of this well-loved hangout. The arcade was redesigned to complement the modern yet dignified feel of the nearby Sanctuario de San Antonio, with classic details reinterpreted with simpler lines to make them more contemporary. New amenities were introduced, such as a plaza
with a water feature at one of the entrances, and an illuminated clock tower serving as a beacon for the community. Tenants were also given a free hand to design their shopfronts as they pleased, resulting in an interesting mix of materials, textures and characters that still adhered to the main architectural theme.

All these developments were implemented by the community in mind – the project was completed in phases to allow businesses to continue their operations. And continuous dialogue with residents resulted in timeless, inviting architecture that responds to the community’s needs.
